AAPM bestows awards upon UW physicists

Four UW medical physicists faculty have been recognized by the American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM). Kalpana Kanal, PhD, DABR, FAAPM, FACR, FSABI, Kristi Hendrickson, PhD, DABR, FAAPM, Jessica Fagerstrom, PhD, MEd, DABR, and Stephen Bowen, PhD, DABR, FAAPM, have received awards at the 67th AAPM Annual Meeting and Exhibition in Washington, DC. The awards were bestowed on July 28th, 2025.

Professor Kanal has been honored with the prestigious Edith Quimby Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of her distinguished career and decades of impactful contributions to medical physics. Through her work in clinical practice, research, education, and professional service, she has helped shape the field.
