UW Radiology faculty awarded RSNA grants

The Radiological Society of North America (RSNA)  Research & Education Foundation’s study sections have completed reviews of the 2026 grant applications, and two grants have been awarded to UW Radiology researchers. 

A Research Scholar grant application submitted by Angela Castellanos, MD, MSc, assistant professor of radiology in nuclear medicine, was highly ranked and approved for funding by the Foundation Board of Trustees. The application is titled: “Imaging PARP Expression to Improve Phenotyping in Cholangiocarcinoma” (#RSCH26-122). 

The application of Avik Som, MD, PhD, assistant professor of interventional radiology, was also highly ranked and awarded a Research Scholar Grant. That application is titled: “Bridging the Translation Gap in Intratumoral Immunotherapy Development of LipiGel for Hepatocellular Carcinoma” (#RSCH26-117).
