Dr. Avanti Gulhane and team awarded RSNA Research Scholar Grant

Assistant Professor Avanti Gulhane, MD, DNB, FSCMR, is the leader of a team of investigators who have recently been awarded the prestigious RSNA Research Scholar Grant for their innovative scientific research project titled, “Enhancing Cardiac MR Imaging of Sarcoidosis via Radiomics Texture Analysis To Reduce Patient Burden and Improve Efficiency.”
This is a two-year career development award that will allow Dr. Gulhane and team to validate and advance novel radiomics based quantitative imaging biomarkers on CMR for detection of active inflammation. The observations and results from this experiment will ultimately help in guiding precision medicine and help reduce multiple imaging tests for patients with cardiac sarcoidosis.
UW Radiology affiliates Karen Ordovas, MD, Murat Sadic, MD, Matthew Nyflot, PhD, Charles Watt, MS, and Peter Muzi, BS, are also on the team.
