Biography
Dr. Rahbar is a professor in the University of Washington (UW) Department of Radiology. A board-certified radiologist, he works in the breast imaging section at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center (Fred Hutch) and UWMC – NW. Dr. Rahbar earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia and his MD from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. He completed his radiology residency training and breast imaging fellowship at the UW and stayed on as faculty upon graduation. His clinical practice at Fred Hutch and UWMC – NW includes digital mammography, digital breast tomosynthesis (or “3D mammography”), breast ultrasound, breast MRI, and image-guided procedures of the breast. Dr. Rahbar’s primary research interests include the identification of MRI features that can be used to improve management of ductal carcinoma in situ, the use of non-contrast MRI techniques to identify and characterize breast cancers, and the identification of MRI markers of risk of developing breast cancer.
