Biography

Dr. Negar Firoozeh is a postdoctoral research scholar in the Department of Radiology at the University of Washington.

She earned her MD degree from Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS) in Iran. After graduation, she completed two years of mandatory healthcare service, working independently in Emergency Departments in underserved regions.

Dr. Firoozeh joined the University of Washington in January 2023, initially conducting research in the Neuroradiology section. Her work focused on applying artificial intelligence to neurovascular imaging, particularly the segmentation and detection of intracranial aneurysms using machine learning techniques.

Since September 2023, she has been a member of the Cardiothoracic and Abdominal Advanced Imaging Lab. In the Cardiothoracic Imaging section, she contributes to the development of a comprehensive cardiac sarcoidosis database, with a focus on Strain CMR analysis. In the Abdominal Imaging section, her research centers on prostate cancer imaging, including the development and application of MRI-based scoring systems such as PI-RADS and PRECISE for active surveillance.
