Biography 

Dr. Kicska is an assistant professor in the thoracic section of the Department of Radiology. His clinical expertise lies in imaging of diseases of the chest, heart and blood vessels. Specifically, his training is in cardiac MRI and cardiac CT.

He also conducts research on digital chest tomosynthesis, a new form of imaging which is a hybrid of traditional chest x-ray and chest CT. In this work, he has studied the utility of digital chest tomosynthesis in the diagnosis of early pneumonia, pulmonary embolism and pediatric airway foreign body.

Dr. Kicska attended the University of Chicago where he received a B.S. in both chemistry and biological chemistry. He obtained his M.D. from Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He also obtained a Ph.D. from Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Department of Biochemistry where he developed chemotherapy drugs for leukemia and malaria.

Dr. Kicska has been board-certified by the American Board of radiology since 2009. He has been an invited speaker nationally and internationally. He is active in many local and national societies including the North American Society for Cardiovascular Imaging, in which he is a board member and chair of the Research Committee. (via eMedEvents)
