BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Domenico Mastrodicasa is an Acting Instructor in the Department of Radiology at the University of Washington School of Medicine in Seattle. He graduated summa cum laudefrom the Gabriele d’Annunzio University School of Medicine (Chieti, Italy) and completed his diagnostic radiology residency at SS. Annunziata Hospital. During his residency, he pursued training in congenital cardiovascular imaging at Bambino Gesù Children’s Hospital (Rome, Italy) and completed a visiting research fellowship in advanced cardiovascular imaging at the Medical University of South Carolina (Charleston, SC).
After becoming an Italian board-certified radiologist, Dr. Mastrodicasa moved to the US and joined the Department of Radiology at Stanford University as a postdoctoral research fellow. He was later appointed Lead Clinical Scientist of the Stanford Cardiovascular Imaging Research group. In 2020, he was awarded a two-year T32 fellowship by the National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering (NIBIB) of the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
Dr. Mastrodicasa focuses on translating cutting-edge imaging technologies into practical tools for advanced patient care. His research areas include artificial intelligence, cardiovascular and abdominal imaging, and spectral CT. His work has been published in widely recognized high-impact journals, including Radiology, Circulation, JACC: Cardiovascular Imaging, and Science Advances.
