Biography

Dr. Gross is the director of emergency and trauma radiology, as well as the fellowship director. He is a UW professor in the Department of Radiology. He is an expert in imaging of trauma patients, with an interest and experience in appropriate and effective imaging, to optimize information extracted to improve patient care while minimizing time spent in imaging and radiation dose. He also has extensive expertise in the imaging of urologic trauma.

Dr. Gross earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in computer science from the University of California at San Diego, and his MD from the University of California at Davis. He completed an internship at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center and his residency at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. Following his fellowship at UW/HMC in emergency and trauma radiology in 2000-2001, he joined the section, and eventually accepted the position as director.

He is a fellow of the American Society of Emergency Radiology, where he continues to serve in multiple roles, and is board certified in diagnostic radiology.
