Biography

Dr. Chalian is a Musculoskeletal Radiologist and an Associate Professor of Radiology at the University of Washington. He grew up in Tehran, Iran and received his MD from Iran University of Medical Sciences followed by Postdoctoral Research Fellowship in Musculoskeletal Imaging at the Johns Hopkins University. Dr. Chalian completed his Diagnostic Radiology Residency at Case Western Reserve University and his fellowship in Musculoskeletal Imaging and Intervention at University of Virginia. Dr. Chalian is a certified diplomate of the American Board of Radiology.

Research Interests

Dr. Chalian is the Director of the Musculoskeletal Imaging Research Group with main interest in translational research and quantitative assessment of imaging biomarkers. He wants to provide clinical background to basic science researchers to provide techniques for reliable and quantitative analysis of pathologies, disease progression, and treatment response with imaging.
