Biography
Ramesh S. Iyer, MD, MBA, FACR, serves as Medical Director of Radiology at Seattle Children’s Hospital. He is Professor of Radiology and Section Chief of Pediatric Radiology at the University of Washington Department of Radiology (UW Radiology). Locally he has served as Vice Chair of Education for UW Radiology, and Medical Staff President at Seattle Children’s. He has held several national radiology leadership roles including pediatric specialty chair for the American College of Radiology (ACR) Appropriateness Criteria, and chair of the quality and safety committee for the Society for Pediatric Radiology (SPR). He has coauthored over 150 peer-reviewed journal publications and the textbook Pediatric Imaging: The Essentials.
Dr. Iyer is originally from Rochester, NY, earned his bachelor’s degree at Brown University, and his medical degree at New York University (NYU) School of Medicine. He completed his diagnostic radiology residency and fellowship training at the University of Washington and Seattle Children’s. He is American Board of Radiology (ABR) certified in diagnostic radiology with subspecialty certifications in pediatric radiology and neuroradiology.
